About The Position

The position involves maintaining, installing, and repairing facility and automation equipment within the Distribution Center (DC). The role requires providing regular oversight of more complex work assignments and ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures. The technician will diagnose and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on powered industrial equipment, conveyor systems, and building equipment such as air compressors and plumbing/electrical systems. The technician will also inspect the work performed by others, communicate with the Facilities Manager and Operations leaders, and ensure smooth shift transitions. Additionally, the role includes leading project work, coordinating repairs with third-party vendors, and training maintenance team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Expertise in performing repairs on all mechanical equipment.
  • Computer proficiency to input work performed and use MS Outlook.
  • High level proficiency on the use of conveyor control systems software and shock watch system software.
  • Ability to MIG and Stick Weld and use tools/equipment effectively and safely.
  • Ability to operate all powered equipment in the facility including yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred; additional related training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance/repairs to powered industrial equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Adhere to all safety policies/procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform repairs/preventive maintenance on building equipment such as air compressors, heating/ventilation, and plumbing/electrical.
  • Inspect the work performed by others on the Maintenance team.
  • Communicate regularly with Facilities Manager and Operations leaders regarding repair work status.
  • Ensure clear shift handoffs and facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Lead/perform project work to support warehouse daily operations.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with third-party vendors.
  • Train maintenance team members as needed.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
