About The Position

Join Waste Connections as a 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic and keep our fleet running strong! Located in Alvin, Texas! We’re hiring experienced techs to perform maintenance and repairs on garbage trucks—covering everything from hydraulics and electrical to engine systems. Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience related to the duties specified.
• Must provide own personal tools.
• Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus.
• ASE Certifications preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on garbage trucks, including engines, chassis, and body components.
• Repair hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
• Inspect equipment and trucks for condition, operations, parts, and fluid levels.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Perform required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
• Communicate needed repairs or tasks effectively.
