East Side Elementary is a Level 5 Reward School located in Chattanooga, TN serving students in grades K-5. We are a diverse school community, with 75% of our students being speakers of other languages. We are proud of our students and the academic growth they continue to show. We have high student attendance and few disciplinary issues.
At East Side, we provide the following for our teachers: professional development opportunities, technology resources for students and teachers, a professional learning community, and vertical planning sessions.
We are looking for teachers who have a growth mindset and are willing to work to support the whole child through both trauma-informed and restorative practices. In addition, teachers must be collaborative, self-starters, risk-takers, caring and nurturing. Our school motto is 'We ARE the village' and we absolutely believe in doing whatever it takes to support our students, families, and each other to get the job done.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
• Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners

• Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
• Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection

• Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
