About The Position

St. Edmund’s Academy is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Second Grade Homeroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves leading a classroom and collaborating with learning specialists to address students' remediation and enrichment needs. The teacher will utilize the school's core curricula to teach language arts, math, and social studies, while also responding to individual student learning and developmental needs. Key aspects of the role include collaborative communication with parents, supporting community initiatives, and implementing the curriculum with creativity and joy. The teacher will work in collaboration with the Director of Lower School to ensure alignment with the school’s philosophy and practices. Candidates must demonstrate an outstanding record in teaching early childhood or elementary school-aged groups, possess strong collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative skills, and exhibit excellent writing and verbal communication. The successful candidate will model and champion the school’s core values, including a commitment to inclusion and belonging within the diverse school community.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of current experience for a Second Grade Homeroom Teacher position
  • Outstanding record teaching early childhood or elementary school-aged groups
  • Ability to be collaborative
  • Detail-oriented
  • Innovative
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education
