Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors. Second Shift Filter Operator: The purpose of this position is: Performs a multitude of hand assembly of filter membrane and value added sourced products. Uses various types of equipment, as related to the job, including manual hand trimmer, autobagger, tweezers, turntables, wet stand and bag sealers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Checks for all materials required to build product, according to operator instruction sheet/procedure. Inputs sub lot numbers and lot numbers on daily inspection sheet, for traceability purposes.
  • Assists with the necessary setups and changeovers.
  • Checks machines and gauges; makes minor adjustments as needed.
  • Maintains necessary records, per product requirements.
  • Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to supervisor/team leader.
  • Handles chemicals during the assembly of products and follows proper disposal procedures for the hazardous waste.
  • Follows established company rules and regulations and maintains quality standards.
  • Performs visual inspections with an unaided eye as well as additional QA testing, as required to insure quality standards are met for each specific product.
  • Makes numerous boxes and labels, for packaging and final packout, per procedure.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
