About The Position

They will also meet the following qualifications and possess these preferred skills: Bachelor’s degree Valid Teaching License in Special Education Ability to serve as a Teacher of Record for students with IEPs Willingness to collaborate with general education teachers, student behavior support team, and school leaders Competency in using technology in the classroom setting Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program WHAT THIS ROLE WILL ACCOMPLISH Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with specific goals; when needed, support in evaluating students who may need special education services Provide push-in and/or pull-out instruction for students with IEPs Utilize the most current SPED practices that cultivate success for the needs of individual and groups of students Regularly assess, track, and/or monitor a students’ progress toward IEP goals Use data to reflect on student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and teaching practice Lead conferences and meetings with students’ families, general education teachers, and school leaders Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, special education teachers and assistants to support students with IEPs Collaborate regularly with the Behavior Support team and school leaders to address student emotional and mental well being and needs Build meaningful, positive relationships with students Use restorative practices to build positive student culture APPLY NOW! Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Teaching License in Special Education
  • Ability to serve as a Teacher of Record for students with IEPs
