About the position

The position is for an engineer who is capable of effectively and efficiently assessing problems, identifying profitable opportunities, and formulating solutions for completion, workover, and facilities projects. Engineers at this level should be able to function comfortably without constant supervision but with awareness and willingness to ask for expert support when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, gather, and analyze daily production data such as oil, water, and gas producing rates and pressures and temperatures.
  • Analyze and understand Lease Operating Expenses (LOE).
  • Possess functional knowledge of production systems operations, including flow line heaters, test and production separators, oil/water storage & disposal, gas & liquid metering, dehydration facilities, gas compression, and flowlines.
  • Have functional knowledge of artificial lift processes including sizing and selection of gas compression, gas lift systems, electric submersible pump systems, plunger lift systems, foaming with capillary strings, and progressive cavity pumps.
  • Plan and interpret both open and cased hole logging operations and data.
  • Write and oversee detailed procedures to execute completion and workover projects.
  • Estimate and manage the costs of completion and workover projects.
  • Perform economic analysis of completion and workover projects using company methodology and parameters.
  • Assist site supervisors in the field in the execution of completion and workover projects.
  • Apply effective people skills to interact with partners, service providers, peers, support staff, and field personnel.
  • Solicit ideas from all people involved in a project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and "buy-in".
  • Implement creative and entrepreneurial thinking and techniques to contribute to the company's vision.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets by keeping information confidential.
  • Be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc).
  • Adhere to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Support company vision and mission.
  • Adhere to established work schedule and attendance standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of oil and gas production field operations engineering experience.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately and proficiently interpret production related data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
