About The Position

The position involves supporting event planning for the College Awards Wine and Cheese Event and conferences supported by the Office of the Dean. The role includes coordinating the Dean's Advising Council meetings, providing essential support for proposed initiatives, and working directly with DAC members to facilitate successful initiatives. The individual will manage and staff the Dean's Speaker Series every Friday, which includes speaker coordination, meetings, poster creation, promotion, and presentation assistance. Additionally, the role requires taking charge of program marketing efforts, contributing to day-to-day college operations, and assisting in various special projects such as event coordination, recruitment for graduate and undergraduate programs, and retention initiatives. The position also involves answering phones in the Dean's Office during work study/secretarial staff absence, communicating with students via email, writing, and phone calls, and providing exemplary customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Attendance at events as requested and undertaking additional assignments as needed by the Interim Dean and his team are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; acceptance into a Graduate Program
  • Understanding of and willingness to support Seton Hall University's Catholic mission
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with high levels of tact, responsibility, proactive thinking, and attention to detail
  • Excellent social media skills, particularly with Instagram, and engagement with student trends
  • Creativity

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to interpret and analyze data
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours

Responsibilities
