The Department of Mathematics is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made. Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is open until it is filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified. Fall 2025: August 18, 2025 - December 22, 2025. Spring 2026: January 15, 2026 - May 22, 2026. Hours: 0-20 hours per week.

  • Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in Mathematics by grading papers in a variety of math courses or facilitating group work and discussions.
  • Assist the instructor in lab/activity sessions, and/or perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair in consultation with an appropriate faculty member.
  • Maintain/submit students' records/grades.
  • Canvas management.
  • Perform individual and/or group academic support.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background.
  • Must have completed courses with a B or higher in which opening exists.
  • Minimum Mathematics GPA 3.0.
  • Solid writing and speaking skills.
  • Solid study skills and time management skills.
  • Salary starts at $17.86 per hour.
  • Part-time work limited to 20 hours per week.
