About The Position

The Health Certification Instructor is responsible for instruction, classroom/lab management, discipline, inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, controlling lab projects, ordering and recording purchase of supplies and equipment, supporting board policies and growth, public relations, and representing Northeast Technology Center in a professional manner at all times. Instructors will work in a team situation with other instructors to train students to develop successful trade skills. The position is full-time, exempt, and certified, with a schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, including a 50-minute lunch break. The starting date for this position is August 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • Valid Oklahoma or Multi-state Nursing License.
  • Minimum of an RN associate degree.
  • Five years of experience as a nurse.
  • Strong leadership with excellent communication and human relations skills.
  • Proficiency in record keeping, prioritizing, and scheduling.
  • Ability to develop classroom management and a competency-based instructional program.
  • Knowledge of current school laws and/or state and federal regulations related to instruction.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Nice To Haves

  • Biology Certification to teach Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Experience with patient scheduling, intake, billing, charting, office management, and clinical patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with state and federal laws, policies and procedures of the school district.
  • Ensure a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate for learning in the classroom.
  • Upgrade teaching techniques, learning styles, and methodologies to deliver current and marketable training to students.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to develop, promote, and improve educational services for students.
  • Meet and instruct students in assigned classes at the location and times assigned.
  • Provide individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
  • Teach students the skills and knowledge contained in the course outline.
  • Use state curriculum material related to the course.
  • Schedule speakers annually from the industry to inform students of opportunities.
  • Update course objectives and outlines as needed.
  • Organize class time for instruction, laboratory work, and cleanup activities.
  • Evaluate each student's performance and prepare progress reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, absences, tardies, and makeup work.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly classroom and lab.
  • Conduct an inventory of tools and equipment before the start of school.
  • Advise a Student Organization and encourage participation.
  • Assist qualified students in finding jobs in their trained field.
  • Submit news articles on newsworthy events in the program.
  • Represent the school professionally at all times.
