About The Position

The Business Manager serves as the business manager for the district, assisting in the duties of all financial and business affairs of the district. This includes overseeing the financial systems used by the district and ensuring compliance with Oklahoma school financial law. The position is full-time, exempt, and non-certified, with a general work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless additional time is required for completion of assignments. The starting date for this position is July 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related business field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting or school finance is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office components Excel and Word is required.
  • Ability to build and format reports and analyze data.
  • Technical knowledge of CareerTech school finance and accounting procedures is preferred.

  • Use of presentation software and internet research skills preferred.
  • Evidence of skills important to fulfilling the position's responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all state and federal laws, policies, and procedures of the school district.
  • Ensure that business operations support the instructional goals and objectives of the District.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, community, media, and Board of Education.
  • Assist with planning and conducting needs assessments related to business operations.
  • Participate in the development, improvement, and implementation of policies and procedures for the business office.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investment accounts.
  • Develop and maintain positive staff morale within the business office.
  • Assist in the operation of all financial and business affairs including accounting, purchasing, inventory, and payroll.
  • Balance federal financial aid expenditures and prepare draws of Title IV funds.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports for the Board and other entities.
  • Maintain fiscal control over campus and program budgets.
  • Supervise the payroll and accounts payable system.
  • Develop individual goals and objectives aligned with the District's philosophy.
  • Maintain a professional attitude through participation in civic and professional organizations.
  • Attend required conferences and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Work scheduled and extended hours as required.
