About The Position

This position entails serving as a Master's level professional clinician who provides a comprehensive array of direct and indirect mental health and substance abuse services within a collaborative team environment. The primary focus is to deliver immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorders. The clinician will operate both in an office setting and within the community as required. Collaboration with community partners is essential to determine suitable treatment options for stabilization, along with the provision of follow-up care, ensuring continuous communication takes place. This role includes the responsibility for thorough case documentation. The clinician evaluates challenging behaviors and emotional trauma through interviews and observations of consumers, as well as by reviewing records and developing a concise crisis intervention plan based on a strength-based approach. Additionally, the clinician is accountable for executing all activities of the sub-unit in a manner that aligns with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential.
  • Four years' experience in crisis intervention and community mental health.
  • Ability to complete extensive documentation within electronic records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and solid computer skills.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
