About The Position

CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and we encourage active military service member, veterans, and their family member to apply. Under the direct supervision of the Safety and Security Coordinator, is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly atmosphere in the building, including screening individuals entering the building, discouraging physical violence of any kind and monitoring consumer and visitor activity. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention as needed (Therapeutic Options A & B on an Emergency basis).
• Physically able to lift and transfer consumers according to approved agency policies/procedures.
• Ability to lift, transport and/or physically manage consumers that vary in weight and size, minimally fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must re-certify in CPR/First Aid each year following employment.
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally.
• Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
• May be required to perform job functions at other CMHA-CEI work sites.
