About The Position

Under the Supervision of the Property and Facilities Manager, will take day to day direction from the Job Coach / Grounds Crew Leader, while performing grounds keeping and general grounds maintenance at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties owned and contracted Facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program /subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures. Typical tasks include but are not limited to the following: mowing, string trimming, edging lawns; pruning ornamental landscape trees and shrubs, weeding and general Grounds Maintenance and Care.

Requirements

• Experience as a general groundskeeper required.
• Ability to work outside in a variety of extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to physically operate heavy machinery, commercial walk behind mowers, and other power equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds keeping and general grounds maintenance.
• Mow, string trim, and edge lawns.
• Prune ornamental landscape trees and shrubs.
• Weed and maintain general grounds.
• Carry out all activities of the program/sub-unit in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.
