About The Position

Northeast Technology Center is seeking a part-time Bus Driver assigned to the Afton Campus. This non-exempt support position is for 10 months and requires the driver to ensure the safe transportation of high school students to and from the campus. The role involves performing daily bus inspections, maintaining order during transit, and adhering to state guidelines. The bus route will operate from Northeast Tech to partner high schools and back, up to three times per day, or as directed by the Campus Administrator. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a current valid Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate.
• Must have a school bus/commercial driver's license; air brake endorsement preferred.
• Pass a national criminal background check with fingerprints.
• Pass a DOT physical exam and drug screening prior to start of employment.
• Good communication skills and ability to give and receive instructions.
• Ability to get along with others and demonstrate good attendance and punctuality.
• Physical ability to lift in excess of 40 pounds.
• Self-starter with the ability to work well without direct supervision.
• Good people skills and ability to interact well with high school students.
• Computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students between Northeast Tech and partner high schools up to three times per day.
• Perform daily bus inspections (pre-trip and post-trip) following state guidelines.
• Maintain order while in transit.
• Clean and upkeep the bus.
• Conduct bus evacuation drills as required by State Law.
• Regular attendance following a designated work schedule.
• Complete any other bus and/or route-related duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
