About The Position

The STRIDE Volunteer Ski Instructor position at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is a non-paid seasonal role designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching snowsports. This position requires instructors to be knowledgeable in the principles and application of teaching skiing and snowboarding, and to effectively communicate this knowledge to students in a clear and positive manner. Instructors will be responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment, ensuring that all participants feel secure and supported during their lessons. Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential, as instructors will be expected to accept all assignments with equal enthusiasm and professionalism. In addition to teaching responsibilities, instructors must be well-versed in all aspects of Jiminy Peak, including lodging, food and beverage options, and lift operations. This knowledge will help instructors provide comprehensive support to students and their families. Proper grooming and adherence to the uniform policy, which includes wearing a helmet, jacket, and name tag, are mandatory. Instructors must also align with the mission, vision, and core values of both Jiminy Peak and the STRIDE program. Punctuality is crucial, as instructors are required to adhere to a set schedule and work at least one day per week. Meeting STRIDE's minimum training requirements is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring that all instructors are adequately prepared to provide high-quality instruction to students.
