About The Position
The Junior Ski Instructor position at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is a part-time, seasonal role designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and sharing the joy of skiing and snowboarding with children. As a Junior Instructor, you will be assigned to assist experienced instructors in managing groups of children, ensuring that they have a safe and enjoyable learning experience on the slopes. This role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals who are at least 14 years old and possess a solid understanding of skiing or snowboarding principles. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere for young learners. You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of snowsports effectively, ensuring that children not only learn the skills necessary to ski or snowboard but also develop a love for the sport. Your role will also involve ensuring a safe learning environment, which is paramount in a ski resort setting. You will be expected to embody the values of Jiminy Peak, including professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to customer service. Additionally, you will be required to assist in various capacities, including the role of a 'House Mouse,' where you will look after children who may not wish to ski anymore, providing them with a safe and engaging indoor environment. This position requires a commitment to working weekends and holidays, as these are peak times for the resort.
