About The Position

The 24-25 Cross Categorical Teacher at Racine Unified School District is responsible for providing special education services to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in a school setting. This role involves collaborating with regular education teachers, developing and implementing IEPs, and ensuring compliance with district and state regulations. The teacher will work with students who have diverse academic, functional, and behavioral needs, promoting an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Special Education or related fields.
• Wisconsin Special Education Cross Categorical #801 or other valid special education license.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver's license.
• Experience working with children or young adults with diverse needs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in an urban, culturally diverse setting.
• Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Infinite Campus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and conduct informal assessment data for students receiving special education services.
• Collaboratively develop and write appropriate IEPs and conduct ongoing progress monitoring activities.
• Effectively case manage and deliver specialized instruction as indicated in IEPs.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers to align and implement curricular supports and supplementary aids.
• Communicate positively with students, families, educational assistants, and fellow teachers.
• Complete necessary records, forms, and reports to comply with regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge in state standards and adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs.
