22177: Summer School APEX Math Teacher

About the position

The Kennewick School District is seeking a Summer School APEX Math Teacher for the upcoming summer session at Kennewick High School. The position runs from June 23 to July 16, with classes held Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The total hours for this position amount to 104, which includes 90 hours of instruction, 10 hours of preparation, and 4 hours for setup and cleanup. The salary for this role is $59.45 per hour. It is important to note that no personal, deduct, or any other leaves will be approved except for sick or emergency leave.

Responsibilities

• Experience with APEX computer based class system and able to assist students as needed.
• Maintain good attendance and arrive prior to students to open lab.
• Supervise and maintain computer lab classroom and assist student progress.
• Maintain necessary records such as daily lesson plans, attendance, assessments, and requested reports as necessary for efficient procedures and evaluation.
• Attend and participate in program and staff meetings designed to assist in conducting a strong summer school program.
• Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and positive professional relationships with other staff members.
• Prepare for and participate in parent involvement activities.
• Plan for and supervise paraeducators.
• Maintain an orderly, positive classroom atmosphere.
• Be discreet and confidential with all school related information.
• Complete Time and Effort sheets, as well as time verification forms, when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Administrator.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State teacher's certificate with endorsement in Math.
• Satisfactory evaluations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with APEX classes.
• Experience teaching Summer School Credit Retrieval Program.
