22166: Summer School APEX Math Teacher

About the position

The Summer School APEX Math Teacher position at Kamiakin High School is a temporary role for the summer session running from June 23 to July 16, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. The total hours for this position amount to 104, which includes 90 hours of instruction, 6 hours of preparation, and 4 hours for setup and cleanup. The salary for this position is $59.45 per hour. This role requires a valid Washington State teacher's certificate with an endorsement in Math and satisfactory evaluations. Experience with APEX classes and teaching in a Summer School Credit Retrieval Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Experience with APEX computer based class system and able to assist students as needed.
• Maintain good attendance and arrive prior to students to open lab.
• Supervise and maintain computer lab classroom and assist student progress.
• Maintain necessary records such as daily lesson plans, attendance, assessments, and requested reports as necessary for efficient procedures and evaluation.
• Attend and participate in program and staff meetings designed to assist in conducting a strong summer school program.
• Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and positive professional relationships with other staff members.
• Prepare for and participate in parent involvement activities.
• Plan for and supervise paraeducators.
• Maintain an orderly, positive classroom atmosphere.
• Be discreet and confidential with all school related information.
• Complete Time and Effort sheets, as well as time verification forms, when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Administrator.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State teacher's certificate with endorsement in Math.
• Satisfactory evaluations.

Benefits
