About the position
The Summer School APEX English Teacher position at Southridge High School is a temporary role for the summer session running from June 23rd to July 16th. The teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction in APEX English, maintaining records, and participating in program meetings. The working hours are from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, totaling 104 hours of work, which includes 90 hours of instruction, 6 hours of preparation, and 4 hours for setup and cleanup. The salary for this position is $59.45 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Maintain necessary records such as daily lesson plans, attendance, assessments, and requested reports as necessary for efficient procedures and evaluation.
- Attend and participate in program and staff meetings designed to assist in conducting a strong summer school program.
- Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and positive professional relationships with other staff members.
- Prepare for and participate in parent involvement activities.
- Plan for and supervise paraeducators.
- Maintain an orderly, positive classroom atmosphere.
- Be discreet and confidential with all school related information.
- Complete Time and Effort sheets, as well as time verification forms, when needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Administrator.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State teacher's certificate with endorsement in English or ELA.
- Satisfactory evaluations.

- Successful experience working with APEX English Computer Based Classes.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
