Requirements

• High School Degree or G.E.D.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• Daily use of a car on site (preferred but not required).
• Available by telephone for daily contact.

Responsibilities

• Advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Empowering individuals to be as active in their lives as they can.
• Acting as a caregiver for individuals within the group home.
• Assisting with household maintenance within the group home.
• Meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing.
• Assisting individuals to medical appointments and banking.
• Helping individuals become active members of their community and attend outings.
• Administering medications and following Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.
• Following medical guidelines in place.
• Safely evacuating individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
• Maintaining certifications and handling job-related duties in compliance with Agency policies.
