About The Position

Vista Equity Partners is a leading investment firm that invests in enterprise software businesses. Through our three private equity funds – Endeavor, Foundation, and Flagship – we partner with companies at all stages of growth. Our 10-week Summer Analyst Program – taking place exclusively in Chicago – offers undergraduate students hands-on experience in private equity investing, including valuation, due diligence, deal execution and portfolio value creation. Upon completion of the program, successful Summer Analysts may be considered for full-time opportunities beginning in Summer 2028. These roles are expected to be available in one of our primary office locations, including Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; or San Francisco, CA, subject to business needs and availability. This exercise is designed to help you learn more about the private equity industry and step into the role of a PE analyst to learn how to evaluate deals, analyze financials and communicate investment insights. Responsibilities As a Summer Analyst, you will: Conduct due diligence and support deal execution: Work with deal teams to evaluate potential investment opportunities through industry research, data analysis and review of financial and business information, as well as support the execution of live transactions. Engage in portfolio company management: Assist in reporting, oversight and operations of existing portfolio companies while helping implement Vista’s best practices (e.g., organizational structure optimization, sales execution, financial valuations, etc.). Contribute to firm operations and strategy: Support cross-departmental strategic initiatives and capital raising efforts; research and identify new investing opportunities to help refine Vista’s software investing aperture.
