Team Overview Applied Materials’ Process Engineering team in the Materials Engineering Technology Accelerator (META Center) is seeking a Summer 2026 intern. Our group leverages Applied Materials’ leading-edge technologies to solve high‑value customer challenges in both research and fabrication settings. This internship offers hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor technologies, including EUV-related processes. You will gain exposure to semiconductor fabrication, develop process understanding, and build skills in experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree or Ph.D. program in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
  • In good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and strong motivation to learn
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Process Engineers work across technologies such as: Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.
  • Work together with senior process engineers to collaborate with internal customers and deliver solutions to variable projects
  • Lead small development projects involving project coordination, design of experiment, wafer processing, data collection and analysis, documentation, and data presenting
  • Perform hands-on work including process set up, recipe building and operating the advanced fab operation system.
  • Support process engineers through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions
