About The Position

Our internship program is designed for full-time students currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university and recent graduates in North America. These are temporary full-time paid positions that usually run from May through August. This position may be eligible for Freeport-McMoRan immigration work visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
  • Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in an appropriate Engineering degree.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs project work that will consist of field work, data collection and analysis.
  • Assembles data and assists with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals.
  • Utilizes computer programs to solve equipment reliability problems.
  • Assists with technical evaluation of equipment and material.
  • Maintains accurate and current project documentation.
  • May perform as a member of an equipment maintenance crew.
  • Assists in coordinating mechanical, electrical, and other departments.
  • Develops a scope of work for minor and major preventive maintenance activities.
  • Evaluates current systems and processes and implements optimizations to improve efficiencies.
  • Assists in the development of detailed information packets.
  • Promotes and initiates positive employee relations designed to facilitate teamwork and job satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as required.
