About The Position

Brevan Howard Asset Management is seeking ambitious, enthusiastic candidates for its 10-week summer Internship Programme. This program is designed for individuals with strong mathematical, quantitative backgrounds and coding skills, who have a demonstrated passion for markets and an interest in Portfolio Management. Interns will work with investment teams in Macro and Equities Trading, starting with a one-week in-depth training covering topics such as Financial Markets, Macroeconomics, FX, Digital Assets, Interest Rate Derivatives, Equity Rates, Bonds, Credit and Fixed Income, Trading Strategies, Risk Management, Excel, and Python. Interns will contribute to their Portfolio Management teams on various projects, including trading strategies, trading signals, back testing, developing market-related models, and research for trade ideas. The goal of the internship is to provide candidates with an invaluable education on the workings of a macro hedge fund and to determine if Brevan Howard and the intern are a compatible fit, with the aim of converting top-performing interns to the 2027 Graduate Programme.

Requirements

  • Penultimate year undergraduate or junior/1st year master’s student at a recognized University.
  • On course for a minimum of a 2:1 / 3.6 GPA, completed before July 2027.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Financial Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or a STEM-related field.
  • Strong mathematical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Programming experience in Python and strong technical skills in Excel and VBA.
  • Demonstrated interest and passion for financial markets, trading, and financial products.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects.
  • Outstanding organization skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Exemplary professionalism with internal and external clients.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a one-week in-depth training covering Financial Markets topics.
  • Contribute to Portfolio Management teams on various projects.
  • Work on trading strategies, trading signals, and back testing.
  • Develop market-related models and conduct research for trade ideas.
  • Engage in a mentor program and attend key talks and social events.

Benefits

  • Monthly salary in the range of $12,500 to $16,600 for NY based applicants.
  • Eligibility for a sign-on bonus.
