Allied World has an exciting opportunity for students with a Business, Risk Management or Insurance specialization looking to launch a career in the insurance industry. We have various spots available in our 8 week long 2026 Summer Internship Program beginning in June. Our structured program combines experiential learning, individual mentoring and training aimed at providing interns with the foundation for a strong underwriting future and a satisfying and rewarding career at Allied World. The intern positions will be in any of our main branch offices (New York, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles). Interns will be assigned to a primary product line, General Casualty or Professional Lines. In addition, interns will learn about each of our critical service functions including actuarial, claims, operations, and business development. After successful completion of our eight-week program and upon graduation, we expect our interns to be placed in full time underwriting positions with the ability to underwrite, with oversight by their department manager, a complex book of business. Program Components Understanding of Allied World, our history, our mission who we are in the market and our value propositions Understand basics of underwriting – entry level understanding of how to analyze and review accounts, make risk determinations, profitably price risk, and negotiate with brokers Through business development gain exposure to brokers that help grow the Allied World business Learn and interact with other parts of the organization\: claims, actuarial, operations, compliance, legal, IT, risk management, loss control A unique opportunity to interact with senior management Create and develop a network of Allied World employees through your experience

  • Rising seniors (undergraduate degree)
  • Enrollment in a Business, Risk Management or Insurance Program (Major/Minor) preferred
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Student desire to launch a career in the insurance industry
  • Proven leadership skills through extracurricular activities, internships, or work experience
