Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, majoring in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Basic understanding of and interest in the workings of federal government and Congress.
  • Ability and willingness to keep department matters strictly confidential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Zoom.
  • Excellent skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office and effectively manage time.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and project work that assists the Government Relations Department.
  • Assist senior corporate Government Relations professionals in day-to-day operations.
  • Summarize legal and business documents.
  • Conduct research, attend and observe meetings, conference calls, and manage assigned projects.
  • Interface with in-house staff on research and assigned projects.
  • Assist in preparing reports.
  • Prepare summaries of meetings and research.
  • Attend meetings and travel as requested by manager; create reports on proceedings; and analyze and organize business records.
  • Conduct administrative work as needed.
