ICF’s Energy and Climate Planning Interns contribute to the development of innovative, analytical, high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the policy, power, gas, renewable energy, distributed resources and climate planning sectors. Through client engagements, colleague and peer interactions, and specialized training, ICF Interns develop subject matter expertise and project management skills. This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2026. Work may be done remotely from any U.S. location or hybrid from our Reston, VA or Crystal City, VA office for those local to the area. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance for this internship. As a Climate and Energy Planning Intern, you will: Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to manage change Write analysis for major corporate and government clients’ deliverables Support the development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries Contribute to business development and marketing efforts and thought leadership development through market research, data analysis and creation of marketing content.
