About The Position

An internship with American Family Insurance is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching. Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam Group office. Compensation Min: $25 Compensation Max: $39 As a Commercial Lines Product Management intern, you will learn about small commercial product management including commercial autos and commercial umbrellas. You will performance analysis and look at the performance within a book of business.

Requirements

  • Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship.
  • Graduating August 2026 or later.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
  • Major/program must align with internship role.
  • Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Product Management and Insurance/Risk Management majors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.
  • Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
  • Support and work on small projects with direction from management.
  • May assume the duties normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles.
  • Presents project results to management and/or department personnel.
  • Performs analytical work within the assigned functional area.
