Civil Engineering interns will be located in Sasaki s Boston office.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a professional degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
  • Self-motivated, clear thinker ready to jump into our interdisciplinary approach to planning and design
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling programs
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about all aspects of the built environment

Responsibilities

  • Position responsibilities will include assisting with layout, grading, drainage and utility design, permitting, and cost estimating
  • Learn about and engage within the phases, aspects, and operations of a highly functioning, multi-disciplinary firm - supporting the engineering team with their daily functions and roles
  • Work alongside designers from other disciplines including architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning
  • Engage with Sasakians through office-wide events, lunch-and-learn presentations, and social gatherings
  • Provide flexibility in developing alternative concepts to solve complex design problems
  • Apply problem-solving skills and perform rigorous analysis, as well as communicate the results to both engineers and non-engineers
  • Gather foundational research on site environmental conditions and regulatory contexts to inform project teams
  • Assist with the drafting and documentation of drawing submissions, with an attention to detail
