Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Must be able to begin full time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2027 – August 2027.
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2026 semester (August 2026 – December 2026).
  • Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Business proficient in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills and/or Python, SQL, VBA.
  • Show a strong interest in the financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance.
  • Possess outstanding analytical skills with the ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced and time-critical environment.
  • Show outstanding communication skills which enable you to operate in a complex financial and mathematical environment.
  • Have acute attention to detail and an aptitude for managing multiple competing priorities with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Show traits such as assertiveness, ethical, collaborative, organized, flexible, high energy, self-starter, accountable, humble.
  • Have undertaken finance, fixed income, and/or capital markets coursework (recommended).

Responsibilities

  • Learn about and work within the Cash Desk, Middle Office, and Investment Operations teams.
  • Manage cash, report client cash flows, and provide internal cash forecasts in all client accounts, mutual funds, and hedge funds.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management group to ensure projected overdrafts are covered and facilitate the investment of excess cash into liquid securities.
  • Support the day-to-day trade life cycle of the PIMCO Portfolio Management team.
  • Engage with external parties such as broker dealers, custodian banks, and third-party trading platforms.
  • Oversee mandatory and voluntary corporate actions events, restructuring activities, and defaulted securities processing.
