Department Summary Department of Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutics (SMP) is part of the Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences (SMPS) organization. Our department is committed to developing and delivering safe, effective and high-quality formulations in support of research and clinical development for the synthetic molecules coming out of gRED. Our research spans from fundamental understanding of physicochemical properties of molecules to drug delivery technologies needed for the development and manufacturing of dosage forms. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity Engineered and characterized novel nanoparticle (NP) formulations for targeted drug delivery. Designed and executed a comprehensive nanoparticle platform, optimizing for enhanced targeted delivery efficacy. Developed and implemented novel analytical methodologies to evaluate and ensure high-level performance of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) systems. Conducted rigorous data analysis, precisely measuring key metrics including particle size, entrapment efficiency (EE%), and target density. Communicated and presented research findings and technical recommendations to cross-functional teams, facilitating platform development. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
