The Position 2026 Summer Intern - Sequencing Software Verification We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. Department Summary As a Summer Intern in the position of Software Developer in Test, you will have the opportunity to work with the family of the applications that drive the Sequencing Workflow and take part in the design, build, test, and deployment of Healthcare technology applications. You will be embedded in the Software Verification and Validation department, which is responsible for ensuring that product deliverables meet customer, business, and product requirements, verifying and validating product toward market release into regulated environments. This internship position is located in Santa Clara, on-site. The Opportunity AI integration into operational workflows to enhance results interpretation and decision-making. Design and development of software applications to automate and streamline troubleshooting processes. Advancement of test automation frameworks through the incorporation of AI-driven tools to support automated acceptance criteria and comprehensive test scenario generation for both front-end (web and touch-based user interfaces) and back-end (API) systems. Expansion and optimization of dashboards and solutions to strengthen quality metrics reporting and performance visibility. Research new ML and AI techniques and advocate for innovative ways to apply them to new and existing problems for our internal tools. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Required Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of current Gen AI research and techniques and Prompt Engineering experienced in programming using Java and JavaScript.
  • Familiar with software design and architecture including front-end and backend technologies.
  • Excellent in verbal and written communication along with sound analytical skills.
