The Position 2026 Summer Intern - Research Associate I We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. Department Summary Personalized Healthcare Solution’s mission is to develop diagnostic products of the highest quality to ensure that every cancer patient receives the most beneficial treatment option through targeted therapy. What We do: Develop high medical value diagnostic assays that identify the appropriate patients who will respond to specific targeted therapies. Partner with pharmaceutical companies to enable clinical trial initiation by providing assays for new drug targets. Promote diverse (internal and external) collaborations while respecting demanding schedules and advocating integrity and quality. Provide the most comprehensive training for end users composed of laboratory personnel, histotechnologists, pathologists, and oncologists. This internship position is located in Tucson, on-site. The Opportunity Executes laboratory experiments; makes detailed observations and analyzes data. Prepares technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses. Maintains complete and accurate records. Normally receives detailed directions on all work. Makes suggestions to improve work processes. Assists in reducing to practice patentable inventions. Works on projects of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. May participate in cross functional technical team activities. Presents and discusses data within group. Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time. Has some knowledge of IHC and scanning slides. Is familiar with assessing quality of images and organizing images. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Required Majors: Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Physiology, or Cancer Biology.
  • Knows basic and some specialized laboratory techniques.
  • Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications.
  • Has some knowledge of IHC and scanning slides.
  • Is familiar with assessing quality of images and organizing images.
