The Position 2026 Summer Intern - RED - SENSE RADIANCE SENSOR MODULE DEVELOPMENT Department Summary Contribute directly to the fight against cancer by engineering revolutionary, accessible DNA sequencing technology that enables earlier detection and delivers on the promise of personalized treatment. This internship position is located in Santa Clara, CA, on-site. The Opportunity Build sequencing module prototypes. Recommend design feedback to improve assembly. Plan, execute, analyze and document hands-on laboratory testing of next generation sensor module fluidic interfaces, including flow visualization, leak and pressure testing. Review plans and communicate results in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Recommend technical solutions and improvements to a state-of-the art sensor module to support DNA sequencing. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria: Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student) Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program). Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Required Majors: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Required Skills: On-site, hands-on lab testing in a laboratory environment.
  • Able to clearly present results and conclusions to a technical audience.
  • Able to integrate and function in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to plan, set up, execute, analyze and document laboratory testing.

  • Coursework and demonstrated interest in mechanical design, structural and fluidics simulation and design.
  • Ability to set up, run and analyze simulations using finite element analysis tools.
  • Direct experience using SolidWorks mechanical design CAD tool.
