About The Position

The 2026 Summer Intern - Product Technical Development - Engineering and Manufacturing Focus is a full-time internship located in South San Francisco. This position is part of the Pharmaceutical Technical Development (PTDU) department, which is recognized for developing large-scale manufacturing processes and innovative drug delivery systems. Interns will work on impactful projects in areas such as Drug Delivery Technology Development, Device Development, and Process Development Engineering. The internship lasts for 12 weeks and includes a stipend of $2500.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years completed.
• Must have attained a bachelor's degree within 2 years of application date and not currently enrolled in a graduate program.
• Relevant work experience in research labs or the biotechnology industry is desirable but not required.
• Must be able to work 40 hours/week for the duration of the 12-week internship.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
• Work alongside plant engineers, project managers, and process specialists.
• Support clinical large-scale cell culture and purification production.
• Assist with clean utility and production equipment upgrades/modifications.
• Help implement and maintain GMP Compliance Programs.
• Conduct project management support of GMP capital and business-related projects.
