About The Position

Product Development Data Sciences is a group of more than 1,000 data scientists across 5 global sites. We deliver data and insights about our medicine with excellence and passion. Our mission is to unlock the full potential of data, to accelerate innovative healthcare solutions for patients and society. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity Innovative study design: develop novel methods and tools for clinical drug development with potential applications in diverse therapeutic areas such as immunology, ophthalmology, neuroscience, and CVRM. Developing software tools/packages: Developing code for novel methods and run simulations. Program Highlights 6 months paid internship, first 12 weeks must be full time (40 hours/week) on-site, while the rest will be part time, and can be remote or on-site, with the opportunity to extend to up to 12 months. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree (no more than a year ago).
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
  • Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.
  • Passion for learning and curious about drug development in the biotech industry.
  • Solid training in statistics, machine learning, and/or data science.
  • Strong programming ability in R/Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with longitudinal data is a plus.
