Explore career opportunities with TSMC Washington and join a company with a commitment to excellence and innovation.   Who We're Looking For We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Semiconductor Equipment Engineering Intern to join our Photolithography Equipment Department. This robust internship offers unparalleled exposure to advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a particular focus on ASML lithography systems, renowned for their critical role in light exposure and overlay control processes.     Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, you will gain practical experience in:   Equipment Lifecycle Management: Contributing to the maintenance and upgrades of complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including ASML systems. Custom Part Design & Fabrication: Participating in the design and fabrication of custom parts to support equipment enhancements and operational improvements. System Enhancement Projects: Leading or supporting projects aimed at improving pattern/imaging verification, optimizing leveling stability, and developing reporting systems with new prototype designs.   We are looking for applicants who thrive in a hands-on environment and possess a strong passion for improving existing mechanical and electrical systems. Prior experience or demonstrated interest in PCB design, electrical diagram modification, and programming is highly preferred. This role provides a unique opportunity to directly impact the precision and efficiency of leading-edge semiconductor fabrication.  

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and have successfully completed the sophomore year (or equivalent) of an accredited bachelor’s degree program in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a long-term basis without the need for current or future employer-sponsored immigration status. This includes, but is not limited to, H-1B, OPT, O-1, TN Visas, or any other employment-based immigration sponsorship.
  • Ability to commit to full-time employment (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) on-site at our Camas, WA location for the entire duration of the internship program.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative team-oriented spirit.
  • Proactive and self-motivated learner with a strong desire for active engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), computer proficiency, presentation skills, and active listening abilities are essential for contributing effectively to team projects and TSMC Washington’s culture.
  • Some roles within the internship program may require the ability to:Lift and move materials in accordance with applicable regulations and safety guidelines, including NIOSH lifting recommendations.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment, which includes adhering to gowning protocols (wearing coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, and gloves) and spending significant time on the factory floor operating and monitoring tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and design principles.
  • Prior experience or coursework demonstrating proactive collaboration and teamwork in project-based settings.
  • Experience in presenting and discussing work and ideas within a team environment.
