Work Arrangement: Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to an assigned facility on a full-time basis. Each successful candidate will be offered an onsite role at a specific location. Candidate location preferences are considered but cannot be guaranteed. As a Quality Engineer Intern at GM, you would drive problem solving and resolutions based on data-driven solutions to suppliers and internal customers. Your work would involve functioning as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier quality at a GM manufacturing plant.

  • Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability
  • Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product
  • Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager
  • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
  • Validate supplier scrap
  • Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process on supplier related issues
  • Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product/function
  • Support launch activities of new products
  • Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Must be graduating between August 2026 and June 2028
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment
  • Proficient in reading part drawings and interpretation of part measurements
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience
