About The Position

The 2026 Summer Intern - Legal & Compliance - Sophomore position at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York offers undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities. Interns will work full-time onsite for ten weeks, contributing to meaningful work that impacts the lives of all Americans. The internship provides a cohort-based learning model, real-world experience, networking opportunities, and access to mentorship and learning events with senior leaders. Interns will be placed in one of the Legal and Compliance Group's functions, including Compliance, Group Operations and Strategy, or Legal, where they will support various projects and programs.

Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in finance, accounting, economics, capital markets, business, ethics and compliance, or operational management.
• Strong academic record and passion for data analysis.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Acrobat.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the execution of activities that support Legal & Compliance Group projects and programs.
• Assist with document review and analysis to determine compliance with Records Management Policy.
• Review agreements and contracts, discussing relevant provisions.
• Conduct case law updates by reviewing summary documents of cases.
• Drive initiatives to meet business goals and implement operational efficiencies.
