The 2026 Summer Internship for Legal & Compliance Analyst positions is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. Interns will play a crucial role in ensuring that PIMCO's investment and strategic goals align with client guidelines and regulatory requirements, gaining invaluable knowledge about interpreting regulations and monitoring trades.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2027 – August 2027.
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2026 semester (August 2026 – December 2026).
  • Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Business proficient in English.

  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, investment finance, and/or legal & compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute ideas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving goals.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm that PIMCO's investment and strategic goals align with client guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Specialize in Investment Compliance or Regulatory Compliance, focusing on key areas such as reviewing marketing materials and navigating broker-dealer regulations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis, develop and present proposals, and drive meaningful change within the compliance organization.
  • Engage in various ad hoc projects, including resolving inquiries and conducting scenario analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments across the firm.
