The Department of Infectious Diseases and Host-Microbe Interactions at Genentech seeks to deliver novel therapeutics for gram-negative bacterial infections by leveraging microbiological and computational techniques. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Department of Infectious Diseases and Host-Microbe Interactions is seeking a rigorous, creative, and highly motivated individual to join our research group as part of the Genentech internship program. This position entails working with scientists across multiple departments to advance our understanding of how antibacterial molecules interact with pathogenic bacteria. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to leverage microbiology, molecular biology, and computational approaches to interrogate gram-negative antibacterial molecules. Program Highlights Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
