Explore career opportunities with TSMC Washington and join a company with a commitment to excellence and innovation.   Who We're Looking For Our semiconductor manufacturing facility is seeking an enthusiastic Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern to support our mission of operational excellence and employee well-being. This internship provides an immersive experience within a collaborative team of six EHS specialists, focusing on the practical application of environmental protection and workplace safety principles.     The intern will be instrumental in fulfilling annual EHS management system requirements, engaging in a variety of activities such as:   Executing critical field safety audits. Conducting industrial hygiene (IH) assessments. Managing and reporting on chemical inventory systems.   Beyond routine operations, this role offers the exciting prospect of leading or contributing to impactful special projects aimed at continuous improvement. These projects could include, but are not limited to, developing ergonomic solutions, upgrading recycling infrastructure, exploring material reuse strategies, or innovating safer methods for daily tasks. There is scope to tailor these projects to leverage the intern's specific passions within the EHS domain.     Successful applicants will possess a strong background in chemistry, a genuine eagerness for hands-on fieldwork, superior communication abilities, and demonstrate self-motivation coupled with excellent organizational skills. This position is ideal for those seeking to gain significant practical experience and make tangible contributions to a cutting-edge manufacturing EHS program.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and have successfully completed the sophomore year (or equivalent) of an accredited bachelor’s degree program in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a long-term basis without the need for current or future employer-sponsored immigration status. This includes, but is not limited to, H-1B, OPT, O-1, TN Visas, or any other employment-based immigration sponsorship.
  • Ability to commit to full-time employment (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) on-site at our Camas, WA location for the entire duration of the internship program.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative team-oriented spirit.
  • Proactive and self-motivated learner with a strong desire for active engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), computer proficiency, presentation skills, and active listening abilities are essential for contributing effectively to team projects and TSMC Washington’s culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and design principles.
  • Prior experience or coursework demonstrating proactive collaboration and teamwork in project-based settings.
