About The Position

The Global Workplace Safety Intern at GM is dedicated to enhancing safety standards within the organization. This role involves providing technical ergonomics support, assisting with innovation and strategic projects, and applying ergonomic assessments and digital modeling tools. The intern will work closely with the Workplace Ergonomics team to develop and deploy initiatives and support proof of concept projects on new technologies and risk analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with coursework in ergonomics.
  • Must be graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ergonomics support within the GM Global Workplace Safety organization.
  • Assist with the completion of innovation and global strategic projects/initiatives to improve ergonomics processes.
  • Learn to use GM's ergonomic assessments and digital human modeling tools for ergonomic analyses.
  • Support the Workplace Ergonomics team with the development and deployment of ergonomic initiatives.
  • Assist Ergonomic technical specialists with proof of concept projects on new technology and processes.
