Requirements
- Completed a minimum of 2-3 years of coursework, working towards a BS in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and technical abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Must demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, using discretion and independent judgement.
- Requires significant adaptability as well as working in a manufacturing environment and the ability to work around machinery.
- Physical requirements: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Environmental, Health and Safety department with various tasks and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential hazards and risks.
- Participate in site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with EH&S standards.
- Conduct research and gather data related to EH&S regulations and best practices.
- Help develop and implement EH&S policies and procedures.
- Communicate with employees and management to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Prepare and present reports on EH&S metrics and progress to management.
- Participate in EH&S training programs and assist with training material development.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in EH&S to contribute innovative ideas to the department.
- Support the EH&S team in maintaining necessary documentation and records.
