The Position 2026 Summer Intern - Delivery Platforms We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. Department Summary The Delivery Platforms Intern will support the development of non-viral gene delivery tools by investigating the structure-function relationships of mRNA and DNA-lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). This 10 to 12-week internship focuses on iterative design, formulation of novel LNPs, execution of analytical characterization, and correlation of physical properties with biological activity. By identifying the key drivers of LNP potency, the intern will directly contribute to the design of optimized lipids and formulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly advancing field of non-viral gene therapy and to help bridge the gap in the understanding of LNP structure-function relationships. This internship position is located in Philadelphia, on-site. The Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Director, Delivery Platforms. Daily supervision and technical training by a Senior Scientist. Developing expertise in advanced analytical characterization and formulation techniques for nucleic acid-encapsulated LNPs. Understanding how lipid structural attributes and composition design parameters dictate LNP properties. Using nucleic acid LNPs as tools for in vivo gene delivery. Prepare and characterize mRNA and DNA-LNP formulation. Employ advanced analytical tools to measure LNP physical properties and identify correlations with biological activity. Apply Design of Experiments (DOE) principles to identify and optimize next-generation lipids and formulations. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer). A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
