Iron Mountain Data Center (IMDC) Business: Iron Mountain’s Data Centers operate a global colocation platform that enables customers to build tailored, sustainable, carrier, and cloud-neutral data solutions. We lead the industry in highly regulated compliance, environmental sustainability, physical security, and business continuity. Job Summary: As part of the Data Center Operations Internship program, you will receive on the job training during the Summer Semester program. During the internship, you will be able to complete real world work along with multiple internal Iron Mountain teams while contributing to our growth aspirations. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree.
  • Must be enrolled in a local community college in fall semester.
  • Graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Pursuing a discipline in Information Systems, or Technology or strong desire to understand technology hardware.
  • Participation in the internship program requires that you are located and able to work at our Manassas,VA facility.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • This is a 20-40 hours per week program (Monday-Friday), that runs from May through August (Eligible Working Hours are 7:00am-3:30pm).
  • Create a consistent work week schedule during the semester.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of IMDC’s critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems and facilities to meet or exceed uptime service levels.
  • Proactively support the safety of the environment & occupants and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of the data center heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
  • Permit and monitor contract vendors.
  • Monitor, resolve and update all assigned service tickets using IMDC’s ticketing system. Including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment.
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
  • Escort and periodically check vendors while performing maintenance to ensure that the rules and operating procedures are followed.
  • Proactively identify issues and take the needed steps to resolve them.
  • Assist with service delivery tasks when needed.
