About The Position

The 2026 Summer Intern - Communications & Outreach Group - Sophomore position at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York offers undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities. Interns will work full-time onsite for 10 weeks, contributing to meaningful work that impacts the lives of all Americans. The Communications and Outreach Group focuses on developing, coordinating, and disseminating information about the New York Fed and its work to external audiences, while also engaging with the community to empower and educate the public. Interns will have access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and learning events with senior leaders, enhancing their skills and professional connections.

Requirements

  • Interest in Community Development/People & Place-based Initiatives.
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in compiling data and analyzing large datasets for internal presentations and external engagements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word) and Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform literature review and research on community development topics of interest.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and support strategies and analysis in community development/anti-poverty policy and practice.
  • Help develop relationships with collaborators to enhance cooperation.
  • Develop guidance on outreach and/or research priorities and provide feedback to Community Development leadership.
