The Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology (BCP) group develops biologically relevant quantitative biochemical and cellular assays and experiments to support drug discovery efforts at Genentech. The department employs a wide spectrum of Scientists at various levels and is recognized globally for its important contribution to drug discovery in diverse therapeutic areas. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA (On site). Perform routine cell culture, including human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) maintenance, expansion, and differentiation into neuronal cell types. Optimize novel iPSC to neuronal differentiation methods; judge the success of the protocol by validating biological function and cell identity markers employing a variety of molecular and biochemical assay techniques. Maintain and organize experiment records and relevant documentation in electronic format. Compile experimental data and present scientific results at the 2026 Intern Poster Day. Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June 2026. A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
